Leave a comment » Weekend getaway from Parker Colorado. Visit Crested Butte, CO.Quick info on our weekend trip to Crested Butte Colorado. We needed a quick and great family weekend getaway from Parker, Colorado. So we picked the mountains and Crested Butte, Colorado.
Check out a few photos on Flicker. Click here. We stayed at the Grand Lodge and the accommodations are pretty good. With two kids (3 years and 10 weeks) there is plenty to do. The resort and the town have tons of fun stuff for our three year old. The pool has been a favorite as well as the awesome playground at the town park. Just got back to the “Grand Lodge” here in Crested Butte Colorado after a day of fun mountain biking. We took a quick trip over to Crested Butte to get away from the heat in Parker real estate and Denver. The weather has been great and the trails are plentiful. If you consider yourself a mountain biker and you have never biked Crested Butte then you need to experience this place and where some say mountain biking was invented. The 4 trails I have ridden which is just a drop in the bucket are all great. I would say that there seems to be fewer rocks than riding the Front Range around Denver. By saying that I mean the single tracks are nice and clean for the most part. There were plenty of technical sections. (Note: I rode downhill at Winter Park all last weekend and the “mountain goat” trail which is very technical so light technical sections today didn’t impress me.)
Yep I checked out the local real estate and my wife just had us tour an open house over near the golf course. For $1.375 million you get 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and two fourteeners out the front door and back door. WOW! I do havetop notch real estate contacts in Crested Butte so if you are thinking about buying on Crested Butte give me a call and I’ll be happy to get you connected. Real estate here is relatively cheap compared to other Colorado reports so now is still a good time to buy.
