Rocky Mountain National Park. Day trips from Parker Colorado.

A great day trip and fun stuff to do around parker Colorado.

Small slide tour of our last vist a few weeks ago.

The kids love it. If you haven’t taken the time to drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park lately you are missing the boat. You don’t even need to go inside the Park to have a great time. There is almost always something fun going on in Estes Park, Colorado. Heck, just walking around town is fun. I will say for some of the best salsa and Mexican food in the state of Colorado try Chelitos Mexican Restaurant. It rocks and they make the salsa homemade and FRESH! Just the way I like it.

You may be too late this year to hear the Elk bugle and see the Aspen trees in their beautiful gold colors but there’s always next year. We enjoy heading up there year round. There is always something to see, a trail to hike or even just hang out in the little town park and relax for a few hours. The point being …get out and do something.

Head north out of Denver on I-25 and then take 36 up to and through Boulder. You can follow the signs to Lyons and then onto Estes Park. Takes about an hour and a half to get thee from Parker.

Pay or PASS? You can opt to pay for the day or buy a yearly National Park Pass. We ALWAYS opt for the yearly PASS. If you are going to visit two or more parks in a year it’s well worth the $60 for a years pass. Two years ago we figured the pass saved us over $300 in park admissions and that was just for 2006.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a true treasure right in our back yard and I’m always surprised when talking to people living on the Front Range and finding out that they rarely ever go take a visit. They only go when friends or family come to visit from out of state. WHY? Go see it and have fun.

8. Our family met Steve Beam while he was hosting an open house at a client’s home.  We leisurely walked through the home when he asked us what type of house we were looking for. After telling him, he told me that he would be happy to email me a copy of listings to look over that met our basic criteria.  Being in sales myself, I was very comfortable working with someone such as Steve.  He wasn’t pushy and he seemed very down to earth.  As a test, I gave him our information, we shook hands and then we left. I remember sitting in the car telling my wife how comfortable I felt with Steve.

Sure enough, a day later, I got an email with the listings that matched just what we had discussed.  My instinct told me that Steve was for real. We worked with Steve for about 4 months and he never missed a beat.   He always returned phone calls (my hot button) and he always made us feel like we were his only clients.

My best story about Steve comes from a trip while out looking at homes.  Our basic criteria for a home were:  a three car garage, a small porch to sit on, decent yard, and a house facing either West or South.  We were looking at a brand new home in Castle Rock which had many of the features we wanted, but the house wasn’t in the area that we desired and it faced east.  My wife and I picked out a few features that we really liked.  Steve could see in my eyes that I was thinking about putting down a deposit.  The sales associate working for the builder was going “for the close".  All of a sudden, Steve told the sales associate, “why don’t we think about this and we’ll get back to you."  He knew, he remembered and he cared enough to say something that would lose a sale for him and the sales associate–I thanked him repeatedly on the way home. A few days later we found our dream home which met all of our criteria. We would recommend Steve Beam to anyone, at anytime. He made looking for a home a truly enjoyable experience–he is truly an asset to his industry.

Sincerely,

The Thompson’s
Parker, Colorado

8. We listed our house for sale with Steve Beam, who is with RE/MAX Alliance.  We received an acceptable offer and the closing took place without a hitch. The initial listing to closing took place in less than 3 months, which in today’s Denver real estate market I believe to be quite good.  I believe this was possible because Steve gave us good advice on a reasonable range of listing prices.  Steve continuously kept us updated on the market activity by providing us with updated listing and sold prices in the area. He conducted a number of open houses which acquainted our property to various local Realtors and potential buyers.  Through demographic research, he was able to identify a number of potential buyers, some of whom were interested in our property.  Throughout this period, Steven Beam was friendly, courteous and diligent.  We would recommend him to anyone who needs the services of a realtor.

Sincerely,

George & Mary Cogorno

Parker Colorado Recreation

Parker Colorado recreation trails and places to get exercise.

Here are several ideas and great places to spand the day in and around the front range.

Up and doing, the residents of homes in Parker, Colorado are taking advantage of the excellent recreation options in town, and extending through Douglas County property and beyond.  Affordable starter homes, gated estates, condominiums, and all Parker Colorado real estate is planned to include beautiful parks, restful open space, great golf courses, and adventurous trails. Baseball fields in Parker Coloado

The relatively young Parker population enjoys the Parker Recreation Center and Fieldhouse, the Colorado Horse Park and Equestrian Center, along with full sports programs at local schools.  Parents push strollers along the 12 miles of jogging trails and 200 acres of parks.  Little 4-H enthusiasts will choose that home for sale in Parker right next to equestrian facilities and the swimming pool.  Some folks with property in Elizabeth or Kiowa are making use of the new easy online course registration and the cornucopia of activity.

The new state-of-the-art Parker Field House has four-court gymnasium, turf fields, and an inline hockey arena.  Its sister facility, the Parker Recreation Center, features an indoor pool, water slide, sauna, and instruction; a triple gymnasium, three multi-purpose rooms, cardiovascular and circuit equipment, a cycling studio and more.

Classes for newborns to ancients may be in yoga, Pilates, cycling, aerobics, toning and strength, and aqua aerobics.  There are sports leagues and camps for just about every age.  The exciting outdoor roller hockey rinks and the skateboard park overlook the Challenger Regional Park’s ball fields and playground.  And there are more parks dotted around town.

The positive affect of walking in nature’s reserves has been proven to enhance cognitive performance, increase good feelings, lower stress, and relieve mental fatigue.  People here, though, don’t need studies to tell them that it feels good.  After all, this is Colorado! Parker Colorado Home for sale

And people are off and running!  Maybe they are hiking or snowshoeing at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park (only 31 miles to the trailhead).  Or trotting along a horse trail at Golden Gate State Park (42 mi.), or at Pike National Forest’s Brookside McCurdy Trail (43 mi.).  They could be out golfing at the Lake, Valley or Mountain course at Pinery Country Club, or at the Club at Pradera, The Canterberry Club and many more within 75 miles of town.

Some are out mountain biking the Red Rocks Loop Trail (29 mi.) or Pike National Forest’s Kenosha-Georgia Pass Trail (34 mi.) and Buffalo Creek Mountain Bike area (35 mi.).  When there is snow, lots are on skis-cross-country and downhill or snowboard- and some are mountaineering in Arapaho National Forest or the Breckenridge, Winter Park, Mary Jane Keystone, Copper Mountain area of the Rocky Mountains.

People in motorized vehicles like snowmobiles, OHVs, and ATVs head out to the Rampart Range (10 mi.), Winter Park (61 mi.), and Grand Lake (79 mi.).  Those on dirt bikes enjoy the Watkins Motocross (13 mi.), Bar Motorized Trail (24 mi.), Devil’s Slide and Bear Creek.

Maybe fooling trout on tiny nymphs or dry fly fishing at Cheesman Canyon is more your style?  Many prefer boating at Cherry Creek Reservoir.  You name your sport-creative, X-treme, rollerblading-and someone else is ready to join you.  Haven’t seen any surfers lately, but a few Spartan spirits do ride bikes all the way to LoDo!

What's the Hottest Topic in Parker Colorado?

The new HOT Real Estate in Parker Colorado is Life Time Fitness.

What’s the HOTTEST TOPIC in the Town of Parker? Today it is not Parker Colorado Real Estate

Ever wonder where all the moms are in the morning after they let their kids off at school. It isn’t Starbucks anymore. Well, maybe after their workout.

Life Time Fitness (720-842-0800) keeps coming up in EVERY conversation I have. Whether I’m talking Parker real estate or just hanging out with friends it keeps coming up.

When they started building that place we knew what it was but never knew what an impact it would eventually have on the local scene. Basically I hear if you are not at Life Time Fitness you are not in “The Loop.”  Period. This isn’t coming from one or two individuals or always the same gender. I hear raves about this place from men, women, married, single, old, young and even the teenagers love it. If the teens love it then it must be cool right?

Still don’t believe me? Our three year old was invited to a birthday party this weekend and guess where the birthday party is.  Life Time Fitness in Parker Colorado. I can’t wait to go see this place and see what I’ve been missing.  I hope they will give me a tour.

Besides being a huge building with enough workout equipment to help you lose all your weight or be as big as an NLF player they have a pool that is almost as large as the building.  I hear the pool has a zero depth entry area for small kids and slides for all ages. The family across the street from us that their girls there instead of the neighborhood pools because the girls love it so much. They spend most of their weekend up at the Life Time Fitness pool.I know  people that own thousands of dollars worth of workout equipment in their basement that go to this place regularly and do so shamelessly with their tired equipment left alone in the basement collecting dust.

Everyone wants food after a tough workout right? Well they are reported to have some of the best food in town. Not saying much for our restaurants but I’ve only had one person tell me that so I’ll let you make up your own mind but I have noticed that a few local restaurants have gone out of business since they opened.

One last bonus about Lifetime that I believe seals he deal for most families. Everyone always says that they can’t workout because they don’t have a place for the kids to play and don’t want to hire a babysitter. Lifetime has you covered. I think its two hours of child sitting per day. Our neighbor’s kids love it and they can’t wait to go and play while mom and dad exercise.

Better check it out!
