taking advantage of the excellent recreation options in town, and extending
through Douglas County
property and beyond. Affordable
starter homes, gated estates, condominiums, and all Parker Colorado real estate is planned to
include beautiful parks, restful open space, great golf courses, and
adventurous trails. The relatively young Parker population enjoys the Parker Recreation Center and Fieldhouse, the Colorado Horse Park and Equestrian Center, along with full sports programs at local schools. Parents push strollers along the 12 miles of jogging trails and 200 acres of parks. Little 4-H enthusiasts will choose that home for sale in Parker right next to equestrian facilities and the swimming pool. Some folks with property in Elizabeth or Kiowa are making use of the new easy online course registration and the cornucopia of activity. The new state-of-the-art Parker Field House has four-court gymnasium, turf fields, and an inline hockey arena. Its sister facility, the Parker Recreation Center, features an indoor pool, water slide, sauna, and instruction; a triple gymnasium, three multi-purpose rooms, cardiovascular and circuit equipment, a cycling studio and more. Classes for newborns to ancients may be in yoga, Pilates, cycling, aerobics, toning and strength, and aqua aerobics. There are sports leagues and camps for just about every age. The exciting outdoor roller hockey rinks and the skateboard park overlook the Challenger Regional Park’s ball fields and playground. And there are more parks dotted around town. The positive affect of walking in nature’s reserves has been
proven to enhance cognitive performance, increase good feelings, lower stress,
and relieve mental fatigue. People here,
though, don’t need studies to tell them that it feels good. After all, this is Colorado! And people are off and running! Maybe they are hiking or snowshoeing at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park (only 31 miles to the trailhead). Or trotting along a horse trail at Golden Gate State Park (42 mi.), or at Pike National Forest’s Brookside McCurdy Trail (43 mi.). They could be out golfing at the Lake, Valley or Mountain course at Pinery Country Club, or at the Club at Pradera, The Canterberry Club and many more within 75 miles of town. Some are out mountain biking the Red Rocks Loop Trail (29 mi.) or Pike National Forest’s Kenosha-Georgia Pass Trail (34 mi.) and Buffalo Creek Mountain Bike area (35 mi.). When there is snow, lots are on skis-cross-country and downhill or snowboard- and some are mountaineering in Arapaho National Forest or the Breckenridge, Winter Park, Mary Jane Keystone, Copper Mountain area of the Rocky Mountains. People in motorized vehicles like snowmobiles, OHVs, and ATVs head out to the Rampart Range (10 mi.), Winter Park (61 mi.), and Grand Lake (79 mi.). Those on dirt bikes enjoy the Watkins Motocross (13 mi.), Bar Motorized Trail (24 mi.), Devil’s Slide and Bear Creek. Maybe fooling trout on tiny nymphs or dry fly fishing at Cheesman Canyon is more your style? Many prefer boating at Cherry Creek Reservoir. You name your sport-creative, X-treme, rollerblading-and someone else is ready to join you. Haven’t seen any surfers lately, but a few Spartan spirits do ride bikes all the way to LoDo!
